Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan highly values Azerbaijan as a strategic partner and that ties between the two countries continue to strengthen.

According to Report, citing the press service of the President of Pakistan, Zardari made the remarks during a farewell meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

“Zardari noted that Pakistan highly values Azerbaijan as a reliable brotherly country and strategic partner. He said bilateral ties, based on mutual trust and unwavering support for each other’s key interests, continue to strengthen,” the statement said.

The Pakistani president welcomed the growing parliamentary, business, cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries. He reaffirmed his commitment to translating the shared vision of the two countries’ leadership into concrete results in trade and investment, transport connectivity, information technology, climate change and tourism, as well as expanding cooperation in defense and security.

Zardari also praised Farhadov’s contribution to further strengthening the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He highlighted the ambassador’s role in organizing Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s historic state visit to Pakistan in July 2024, which, he said, opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.

Zardari congratulated Farhadov on the successful completion of his diplomatic mission in Islamabad and wished him success in his future activities.
