Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a series of high-level meetings with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior German officials and defence leaders from Brazil and Lebanon during his visit to Germany for the 62nd Munich Security Conference from February 12 to 14, the military’s media affairs wing said Sunday.

During his meeting with the US Secretary of State, discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, including evolving global and regional security dynamics and cooperation in counterterrorism, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.

In separate engagements with German authorities, the COAS called on Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of the Interior, Günter Sautter, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor, and General Carsten Breuer, Chief of Defence of the German Armed Forces.

The talks centred on contemporary security challenges, bilateral defence cooperation and the importance of strengthening global peace through sustained dialogue.

Field Marshal Munir also met Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces, to explore avenues for enhanced military collaboration.

Additionally, General Rodolph Haykal, Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, called on the COAS, with discussions covering the regional security situation and measures to deepen defence ties.

The meetings reflected Pakistan’s continued diplomatic and military engagement with key international partners on shared security priorities.
