Indian govt’s asset seizures escalate tensions in Kashmir
The Indian government has escalated its crackdown in Kashmir, seizing properties from residents in a series of controversial moves. This comes after the 2019 revocation of Article 370, which ended the region’s special status.
Recently, properties in Shopian valued at millions were taken from two local Kashmiris. Authorities, including the National Investigation Agency and the State Investigation Agency, justified these seizures as necessary actions against those allegedly disrupting the peace.
