Taliban accused of extrajudicial killings and human rights violations in Afghanistan

Since taking control of Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban has been accused of numerous human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings and severe restrictions on women’s rights. According to international reports, the Taliban has targeted over 100 former Afghan officials in retaliatory actions, with many more still imprisoned.

The Taliban has reportedly silenced opposition voices and implemented measures to maintain their rule. This includes imprisoning or killing former government officials and prosecutors. They have also released convicted terrorists from prisons while detaining members of the previous administration.
