US expresses grave concerns over human rights violations in India

The US Department of State has expressed grave concerns over human rights violations in India, as detailed in its bi-annual report.

The report highlights measures taken against minorities in several states, with particular emphasis on serious violations reported in Manipur state.

According to the report, from May to November last year, a staggering 175 people lost their lives and 60,000 were displaced in Manipur. Furthermore, instances of rape of women and attacks on places of worship persisted, adding to the alarming human rights situation.
