In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the government has prepared to close 13 thousand madrasas. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has recommended the closure of religious madrassas. The SIT has claimed that these madrassas are unapproved. Madrasahs or other institutions for the education and training of Muslim children are the wish of many extremist Hindus. If they were approved, would they still be acceptable? If they are not approved, they can be easily legalized. Many Madrasahs in Pakistan were unregistered which were given an opportunity to get registered and today they have acquired legal status and are continuing their work. India may be reluctant to take this example from Pakistan, well, if the intention is clear, it should not happen, but it can keep in mind such actions of other countries of the world. Decisions like closing madrassas, making temples instead of mosques, banning treatment of Muslims in hospitals during Corona days, all these are done on the basis of prejudice. Muslims are the largest minority in India, if they are treated like this, then it can be estimated how Sikhs, Christians and other minorities will be treated. For this reason, all the minorities continue to protest together. There have been big claims of the Indian state being secular, but it is a fact that the Modi government has now turned it into an extremist Hindu state. The decision to close madrasas is also a reflection of the Hindutva mindset. This will only lead to an increase in hatreds between communities and these hatreds lead to an increase in extremism. That is why the minorities have to face state terrorism. What is happening to the minorities in India needs to be immediately noticed by the United Nations, its responsible institutions and its friend America, which is ready to support every step of India.
