October 22 marks the 30th anniversary of the #Bijbehara massacre. It was on the 22nd day of October in 1993, when the Indian security forces #BSF in a barbaric display of violence martyred at least fifty innocent #Kashmiris and injured scores, in a deadliest killing spree on record. October 22, 1993 remains the ultimate annus of horribilis for the Residents of #Bijbehara, which left deep scars on their minds and hearts. 30 years have passed since the Bijbehara massacre was executed. However, no one involved in the carnage was convicted or tried. Though an inquiry into the incident led to charging the forces involved with murder, however, the accused were later acquitted by the security forces court. National Human Rights Commission had made attempts towards further inquiries into the massacre. However, due to the rejection by the then central government, in September 2000, NHRC dismissed the case. Since 1947, the actions of Indian security forces in Kashmir have been and remain an insidious calamity of the worst order for its people. Their behavior in Kashmir has been systematically brutal & barbaricto date.
