Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a telephone conversation to discuss regional developments following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum between Iran and the United States.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on X on Sunday, June 28, that Dar emphasized the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in achieving lasting peace in the region.
According to the statement, Al Zayani said he plans to visit Pakistan in the near future.
The Islamabad Memorandum was signed by Iran and the United States after weeks of negotiations mediated by Pakistan.
However, in recent days, the Persian Gulf has once again witnessed tensions between Iran and US forces stationed in the region.
